What We Do

We provide a platform for children and youth to advance Sport, Music, Art, Culture, Knowledge and Environment in the North West Province and beyond.

Our Approach

We initiate and implement SMACKE programmes:

  • Sports Events
  • Saturday School, NatLeCo and MaLeCo.
  • Edutainment Events
  • Football Academy
  • Environmental Events

We work together with teachers, parents, schools, learners, youth and recognizable people in the community.

The Knowledge Desk is responsible for initiating and implementing teaching and learning programmes to improve learners’ learning in mathematics, Natural Sciences, Computer Literacy, and more. The Knowledge Desk was developed to respond to the challenges faced by the Department of Basic Education concerning the teaching and learning in our schools, mainly primary and secondary school mathematics. The main objectives of the Knowledge Desk are:

  • To teach Mathematics to grade 4 – 12 learners 
  • To teach Natural Sciences to grade 4 – 12 learners  
  • To teach Computer Literacy to grade 4 – 12 learners  
  • To teach Physical Sciences to grade 10 – 12 learners  
  • To spread awareness among grade 4 – 12 learners regarding literacy & numeracy
  • To encourage and inspire more learners to do mathematics in grade 10. 

 

The Music, Art, and Culture (MAC) desk is responsible for initiating and implementing programmes to develop poetry, painting, dancing, singing, drama, filming, and more. The MAC desk’s vision is to see children and youth in the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District learning, practicing, and enjoying music, art and culture. The main objectives of the MAC Desk are:

  • To encourage participation in Music, Art, and Culture events
  • Create Music, Art, and Culture events/tournaments 
  • To assist children and youth in developing:
  •      Self-esteem
  •      Self-discipline  
  •      Confidence 
  •      Creativity 
  •      Leadership qualities 
  • To promote:
  •      Community of artists 
  •      Collaboration among artist  
  •      Openness, respect, depth, and passion
  • To Create jobs and skills development

The Sports Desk was developed to uplift the morale of children and youth and advance the talent of sports and leadership. The Sports desk is tasked with initiating and implementing sports programmes involving Kasi Primary and Secondary school learners. The purpose is to foster and develop a community of players interested in sports and, most importantly, to have fun. Our sports codes include soccer, netball, chess, indigenous games, and more. The main objectives of the Sports Desk are:

  • To encourage participation in sports events
  • Create sports events/tournaments 
  • To assist children and youth in developing:

The Environment Desk focuses on cleaning campaigns and raising awareness about a conducive environment. This desk was developed to address our community’s challenges concerning illegal dumping sites. Moreover, this desk has partnered with schools in the community to initiate and implement programmes that will keep Kasi schools clean and fresh. The main objectives of the Knowledge Desk are:

  • To encourage participation in cleaning campaigns
  • Create Environmental events/tournaments 
  • To assist children and youth in developing:
